Here’s a selection of projects I’ve worked on with samples that can be found online.

POPZILLA

A rapid-fire animated sketch show is less like Looney Tunes and more like the result of mixing TMZ, Beavis and Butthead and Mad TV in an industrial-sized blender and cranking the speed up to puree. 12 episode series that aired in Sept 2009 on MTV. I was Post Supervisor, an Editor, and did Main Titles and Graphics Packaging, on the pilot as well as all 12 episodes. For Popzilla, something I was proud of was the Main Title Sequence and Graphics package, here’s a breakdown of how I made em. Once we came up with the concept, myself and director Rob Fendler, I put together the animatic for the proposed sequence. Using rough jpegs for BGs, and character storyboards drawn by myself and Rob, (the character designs are rather simple, so simple line figures do the job) I composite, add the camera moves, edit, and time out the sequence for a rough version of our 30 sec opening titles.

Popzilla Animatc vs Finished

Here’s the animatic for the opening titles.

Once the animatic is approved, it goes out to a background artist Carl Reed, and Character Animator Kat Kosmala. Then I take their BGs and animation and I put the whole thing together, with camera moves, effects, motion graphics, sound and music. The final result looks like this:

MEADOWOOD’s 12 Days Of Christmas

Here’s a piece I cut together for Creel Films. The 12 days of Christmas event at Meadowood Napa Valley winery and restaurant. 12 days, 12 chefs, 12 wines. 12 superstar chefs such as Michael Cimarusti, Cat Cora, Vinnie Detolo & Jon Shook join Christopher Kostow at the Restaurant at Meadowood to serve some delicious innovative dinners in joint with different Napa vintners making some of finest dishes ever served. All proceeds of the event go to Share Our Strength, an incredible charity fighting poverty and child hunger in America.

SLOTCAR!

A live action, miniature web series parody of the beloved sport of Nascar. I was Post Supervisor, Editor, and VFX. Click the image to take you there. (the series playlist’ll be to the right)

ESPN: OFF-MIKES

offmikestag.gif

The emmy-award* winning webisode series, of animated stories feature on, and by Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg from the ESPN Radio Show “Mike & Mike in the Morning”. I co-wrote, edited, and composited 3 of the 4 seasons of the series. How it worked? I’d get 10 mins of a bit from their show, I’d cut it down to a minute story, then write, comp and cut an exaggerated cartoon parody of their own stories. Featured on ESPN.com CLICK IMAGE TO WATCH.

*Emmy Award: 2005 Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Content for Non Traditional Delivery Platform. (In other words, my colleagues and I got the first emmy for a web series)
